The past few years I’ve learned to be more silent…more intentional with paying attention to the things that nurture or steal from my soul… more intentional about what I’m chasing…
I’ve learned that there are two different types of “ready”…
Most people wait to be ready trying to convince themselves that they just need to change their attitude and think differently about things… so they beat themselves up and talk down to themselves because they just can’t seem to ‘get it together.’.. unknowingly or perhaps knowingly, sliding down the mountain that they’ve spent so long climbing, on a landslide of verbal assaults that we throw at ourselves, only to find we’re staring at the base and starting over again, or feeling like it anyway…
But sometimes it’s not your attitude that needs to be ready, it’s your soul… and I’ve learned that you can’t rush that kind of ready…
When the outside world isn’t making any sense you have to go inside… work there. Sometimes you have to stop chasing ego and chase peace instead…
“Grow through what you go through”… and remember that before you see the bloom, the seed was planted long ago and doing the work in the dark…in the silence…
Take a moment to stop and take the detour, enjoy the scenic view… stop beating yourself down the mountain and when you’ve rested and your soul feels ready, start again. Stop worrying about what it looks like… ask yourself how it feels instead…chase that.
Grace. Peace. Love. may it be the things you offer to yourself so that you can offer it to others.
