Someone asked me recently what wisdom meant to me…
Wisdom is humble and graceful. It has nothing to prove and nothing to gain… it’s often seeded in the deepest pain and born from the insights that we allow ourselves to explore and learn from, if we allow the process.
Wisdom is not a number shape or size, it does not come from simply aging if during that time you never allow yourself the journey of truly discovering. Everyone will grow older, not everyone will grow wiser. Wisdom is a gift you give to yourself through the experiences that have shaped you, if you’re willing to unwrap and receive it.
Wisdom offers hope, it’s patient and all understanding… it doesn’t discriminate, and it can be the best teacher if you’ll let it.
Wisdom is internal and eternal… there is no ego in wisdom only empathy. Wisdom is a journey…often explored alone, with God… in seeking to understand.
It teaches you to ask better questions… it seeks to help you grow, to raise you higher, to show you the beauty of brokenness…
Wisdom is often buried in the stories we hide out of shame… out of fear… because in this physical world, we celebrate ego… but wisdom is a spiritual journey.
Wisdom is what we all seek to have more of… but often want a shortcut to get there… wisdom is not knowledge, it is an extension of knowledge… a deeper level of understanding.
They say that pain leaves you when you are done learning what it came to teach you… perhaps in some regards that is where wisdom begins.
Wisdom is the lessons learned in the battle of some of your toughest storms, and what you share in hopes to spare others of the same journey.
Wisdom is not loud…it is the whisper…
